Scott N. Moore, 43, of Jersey Shore, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024.
Born January 22, 1980 in Jersey Shore, he was the son of Thomas Scott Moore (Karen Yeagle) and Janet Beth Moore (Raymond Smith).
He was a 1998 graduate of Jersey Shore High School and a 2002 graduate of Delaware Valley College.
Scotty was a good man; a farmer through and through. He put bread on the table helping his father build Moore Farm Feed Mills into the business it is today. He was a hard worker; loyal to his family and loyal to the mill. He was a proud father; proud to be outshot by his son and proud to be outfished by his daughter. He was a good master to his dogs, out in the cold to find them in the depth of winter and concerned about them to his very last minute. He was a quiet man, happy with what he had and always willing to lend a hand to help, fixing grandma’s fire, stacking your firewood, fixing you some seafood soup or sending you off with a bag of the best jerky ever to be cut from a 10 pointer’s hind end. He was a guy’s guy; the one you want to have a beer with, watch the Steelers with, shoot 18 with, wear orange and drive Hesker Hill with. Though a man of few words he connected easily with anyone who visited with him and his passing will leave a hole in all who knew him.
In addition to his parents and step parents, he is survived by his two children, Grace and Nathan Moore; sisters, Brooke Moore (Janik Gasiorowski) and Sarah Moore (Andy Pearson); grandparents, Helen Moore and Don Scott; step sisters, Jacquelyn Smith and Jennifer Miller (Mike); best friend and step brother, Logan Welshans (Janessa); his dogs, Russ and Chief; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, at the Jersey Shore Elks Lodge, 203 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 25, at Pine Run Bible Church, 1719 Pine Run Rd., Linden, followed by a luncheon at church. Pastor Grant Helsel will officiate.
Arrangements are entrusted to Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, Jersey Shore. www.WelkerFuneralHome.com
