Stacey Karney Shouey Obituary

Stacey Jo (Karney) Shouey, 47, of Trout Run, slipped into the loving waiting arms of Jesus on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021 in Geisinger Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born April 25, 1974, the daughter of Edward J. Karney (Lisa) and Diane M. (Noltee) Karney Mumma (Harry).
The first few years of her life, Stacey and her parents lived in North Carolina and South Carolina while her Dad served in the Marines. Stacey was a wonderful mother raising a son and a daughter single handedly, Brenden M. Shouey and Courtney L. Shouey (Logan) both of Trout Run. Stacey also gave birth to a biological daughter, Breanna L. Mumma.
Stacey was a beautiful person inside and out with a kind and loving heart. She loved to read and she was an amazing cook with family always requesting her specialties at family get-togethers.
Everyone had a special bond with Stacey. She grew up surrounded by love. She especially loved spending time with her maternal grandparents. They were very close and before the passing of her grandmother last year, Stacey would go and spend the weekend with her. She loved helping her and she loved their special bond.
One of Stacey’s greatest treasures were her 2 granddaughters, Adaleine Mae and Delilah Rose, who she loved with all her heart. They love their Gi Gi so much!
Stacey was all about family and we all have broken hearts without her.
Stacey graduated in 1992 from Jersey Shore Area High School. She worked for a time at First Quality and later she worked at Hope Enterprises caring for others.
In addition to her parents, step-parents, children and grandchildren, Stacey is survived by a sister, Shelly L. Bufford (Jason) of Jersey Shore and their daughter, Adriana N. Bufford who gave her the title of "Aunt". Stacey loved her niece very much. She is also survived by a brother, Joshua J. Karney (Natalya) of Lock Haven;  Breanna L. Mumma of Rauchtown; a step-brother, Scott A. Mumma (Brenda) of Jersey Shore and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and the many children that called her âAunt Staceyã. She also leaves behind her cats, Lily and Oliver.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Mark and Marilyn Noltee and paternal grandparents, Edward and Shirley Karney and her loving uncle, Daniel Noltee.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021 at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore.
