Thelma L. Holdren

     Thelma L. Holdren, 98, of Avis, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2023 at the Jersey Shore Nursing and Rehab Center.

     She was born May, 5, 1925 in Fetzertown to the late Raymond Fye and the former Mildred Fetzer. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill E. Holdren Nov. 17, 2007. They were united in marriage June 4, 1944.

     Earlier in her life, she was employed by Sylvania in Mill Hall. For several years Thelma and her husband were self employed farmers in Nippenose and Sugar Valley.

     Thelma is survived by a daughter, Judy L. (Daryl) Renninger, of Williamsport; two grandsons, Jamie R. (Stephanie) Renninger of Duboistown and Dale J. (Laura) Renninger of Shepardstoen, West Virginia;  3 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jeanne Brungart, of Lewisburg.

     Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 North Main Street, Jersey Shore. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of services in the funeral home. She will be laid to rest with her husband in the Rest Haven Memorial Park. www.WelkerFuneralHome.com
