Vhittorio N. DeCapria

     It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, teammate, captain, and friend Vhittorio Nicholas DeCapria, “Vhito”, August 27th 2011, who entered eternal life with Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 25th, 2025 at the age of 14, surrounded by family.

     From the moment he came into our lives, Vhito was the brightest light in every room. He had a gift for lifting others up with his smile, laughter, and endless positivity. His joyful spirit, kind heart, and happy outlook touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

     Whether he was spending time with family, sharing jokes with friends, or simply being himself, Vhito brought warmth, comfort, and happiness to those around him. He taught us all the power of love, optimism, and compassion in the simplest moments. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact of his life is immeasurable.

     His light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved him and met him, and his memory will be carried forward with gratitude of knowing him and with love.

     Vhito is survived by his parents - Nicholas DeCapria, Ashley Haines (Ross); brothers - Vinnie DeCapria & Bensen Stebbins; Paternal Grandparents - Nick & Laura DeCapria; Maternal Grandparents - Dennis & Lisa Haines, Christina Schneider; Great Grandparents - June DeCapria, George Schneider, JoAnne Haines; Aunts - Madison Marshalek (Jake), Mikaela Brunozzi(Chris), Sami Haines(Dane), Natasha DeCapria; Uncles - Denny Haines(Tiff), Jason Haines(Kate), River Haines(Jojo), Conrad Smith(Nicole), Noah DeCapria, Luigi DeCapria; Cousins – Emalee, Zoe, Frankie, Nikkie, Kennedi, Enzo & Raleigh, as well as countless relatives and friends who cherished him deeply.

     A service to celebrate Vhito’s life will be held on Saturday, October 4th, 2025 with a service beginning at 1:00 p.m., followed by a gathering of family and friends until 4:00 p.m. at the Thompson Street Football Stadium, Jersey Shore.

     The family asked that those wishing to honor his memory do so by donating to a basketball scholarship in Vhito’s name to the Jersey Shore School District.

     Rest in eternal peace, sweet Vhito. You will forever be our brightest light.
