   Ila Y. Welker, 76, of Williamsport, died early Tuesday morning, April 24, 2018, at UPMC Williamsport.
   Born Feb. 2, 1942, in Albany, New York, she was the daughter of Gladwin Yenner and the former Mary Warfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Welker Sr. on Dec. 6, 2009. They were united in marriage August 26, 1960, at the Flemington United Methodist Church.
   Ila was a graduate of the Lock Haven High School and the Williamsport Area Community College with a degree in nursing. For many years she worked in area hospitals, and  was the owner of Kiddie Korner Daycare in Avis. She was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church.
   Ila loved music especially playing piano and traveling. Her greatest love was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
   Surviving are her two sons, Kenneth E. Jr. (Wanda) Welker, of Jersey Shore and Mike A. Welker, of Lock Haven; daughter, Kim E. (Kent) Strunk, of Avis; 7 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Gladwin E. (Paula) Yenner, of Cogan Station and Garlyn (Vickie) Yenner, of Elizabethtown, Pa.
   A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends and family may call 5 to 7 p.m. Friday evening, April 27, 2018, at Welker Funeral Home. The Rev. George Grossman, her pastor, will officiate.
   She will be laid to rest in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.

Ila and I were classmates and very good friends. Although I did not see her these last few years, she was in my thoughts. Ila, Sandy and I spent a lot of time together when she lived in Avis next to Sandy's home. She will be greatly missed.
