   Richard M. Friggle, 94, of Jersey Shore, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019, Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

   Born on April 7, 1924 in Jersey Shore, he was the son to the late Fred A. and Della Mae (Maurey) Friggle.

   On August 22, 1947, he married Dorothy M. Sechrist, who preceded him in death on August 5, 2017. Also preceding him in death was a son, Gary, on February 12, 2018.

   Richard is survived by his daughter, Diane (Fred) Straub of Milton, NY and Linda (William) Medford of Fort Myers, FL; a son, Richard Friggle of Jersey Shore; two granddaughters, Angela (Dwayne) Seeley and Tina (Steven) Jefferson; two grandsons, William (Marcy) Medford and Kristoffer (Andrea) Medford; nine great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Justin, Joshua, and Johnny Seeley, Taylor and Landen Jefferson, and Kristoffer, Skylar, and Jordy Medford; and two great-great-grandchildren, Rylee and Lucas Seeley.

   He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jersey Shore, a member of the Masonic Temple for 50 years, VFW for 36 years, American Legion for 36 years, and the Elks Lodge for 33 years, all in Jersey Shore. Richard retired from Piper Aircraft in Lock Haven.

   Richard honorably served in the United States Army from March 1943 to March 1946, he was stationed in the Philippines during WWII in the 671 Tank Destroyer Battalion.

   Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening, January 28, 2019 at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, January 29, 2019 at the Jersey Shore Cemetery, followed by full military honors accorded by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard.
