     Floyd Emerson Gallagher Sr., 86, of Williamsport, returned to his Lord on July 6, 2019. He was born April 29, 1933, the eldest son of the late William and Nelma Gallagher of Jersey Shore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Aungst Gallagher, and daughter, Penny (Roger) Kohick.
     He is survived by his brother, Raymond Gallagher; sister, Renee (Wayne) Yearick; his children, Dr. Dale (Christine) Barner, James (Vicky) Barner, Lori (Bill) Gallagher, Floyd (Tammy) Gallagher Jr., Brian (Lori) Gallagher, Steve Allen, Tim Allen, and Sam (Sara) Aungst; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
     As a young man, he was popular with his friends, loving life. It was said that he could dance on roller skates. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and riding his motorcycle as a member of the Chapter "M" Club. In 1951, he joined the U.S. Air Force, serving four years during the Korean War. He earned the National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Korean Peace Medal. He was an avid member of the Korean War Veterans, American Legion, 40/8, VFW, BPOE (Elks), Moose, and the Lions Clubs.
     After his time in military service, he spent a lifetime driving the "big rigs" going coast to coast, earning the Million Mile Safe Driver Award. After coming off the road, he spent the next eight years driving school bus before finally retiring in his early 80s.
     A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 27, in the Jersey Shore Cemetery, where he will be honored by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard. Rev. Kerry Aucker will officiate.
